Spirit
Pair I · spirit-side
Spirit is the element the other seven are made of: pure feeling. It can't act alone, so it works through its partner, Sound.
Everything else is made of this. Spirit is the raw stock the other seven were cut from, and its one native act is feeling.
On its own it can only want. Feeling with nowhere to go is longing: the sound calling your soul. To do anything at all, Spirit needs a flesh-side, and its partner is Sound. Its presence, also called Spirit, carries a little Sound inside it.
Like every spirit-side, it has a temper of its own. It can say no.
