Oar

A river-town child of an older age

Oar is the hero of The Ferry Song, a river-town boy from a much older age. He holds Water, from his mother. When the ferry song was lost, he found it again and sang it at first light.

Long before Tari or Pere, there was Oar: a river-town child from an older age of the country, who held Water from his mother.

When the ferry song went out of the rowers overnight, he went after it. He gained Sound, in the drum, and Light, in Mother Lamp's lamp, which shows what is and not what seems. He gathered three verses, sang the song at first light, and the ferries ran.

He isn't the hub's Called today. He's closer to their ancestor.
